Taryn Manning was born on November 6, 1978 in Tucson, Arizona, U.S.. She landed her first acting gig in 1999’s Speedway Junky in an uncredited role. She next appeared as Maddy in Crazy/Beautiful, her first credited big screen appearance. In 2002, she played a starring role alongside Britney Spears in Crossroads. In the next few years, she acted in the movies White Oleander, 8 Mile, Cold Mountain, and A Lot Like Love.

As a television actress, she first had her notable role in Get Real as Rebecca. After making guest appearances throughout the early to mid 2000s, she starred in the short-lived series Drive and subsequently became known for her role as Rita in Sons of Anarchy. She also played the recurring part of Mary Ann McGarrett in Hawaii Five-0. Since 2013, she has been playing the role of Tiffany in Orange Is the New Black.
